Negative impacts generated by solid waste in marine coastal waters

The negative impacts generated by solid waste in coastal marine areas is a topic of total relevance for the world and especially for El Salvador, every year the rains cause floods and destruction during the rainy season, with pollution being the main factor that aggravates the emergency situations. Poor disposal and lack of environmental education regarding plastic means that every year coastal marine areas are highly polluted by garbage, which leads to poisoning and death of many marine species and even birds that come to the area.
