Abstract

Contextualization and presentation of the book Aguilar Cicliano's text suggests that, in recent years, the teaching of literature has undergone a pedagogical shift. The conception of literature as an ideal of beauty and the transmission of aesthetic values underwent a drastic change with the reform of the educational curriculum in 1996-97, when it was renamed Language and Literature and its components were divided into three: language, literature, and expression.
