Abstract

The objective of the article is to carry out a critical and comprehensive approach to the role that the public university must play in the social transformation of the country in the 21st century, that is, to reinvent the university to reinvent the country, with the purpose of becoming a benchmark of scientific, technological and humanist authority for the transformations promoted by the government of President Nayib Bukele. Now, for the public university to change and to be able to change the country, it needs to have an academic quality that borders on excellence, to promote an academic revolution, to free itself from the partisan instrumentalization into which the FMLN party put it, and to leave behind the mechanisms of electoral and labor corruption that, protected by autonomy and university democracy, have it in an unenviable state in academics
