Abstract

Objective: the purpose of this work is to go through the development of classicism historically, in order to understand how, today, it is still important to talk about classicism and the classical. Method: the elaboration of this essay has been carried out through the bibliographic review of transcendental texts on this subject. Results: it has been possible to determine a conceptualization of the classic, classicism and representative authors of it in different regions and times that illustrate the meaning historically. Conclusion: it is concluded that, after more than 2000 years that Aulus Gellius included the classical term in literature, it continues to be used in various fields of culture
