Double-blind peer review process

In order to guarantee the academic and scientific quality of the articles submitted for publication in the Jiboa Journal, a rigorous refereeing process is implemented by specialists in the different areas of knowledge related to the subject matter of the article.

Once the article has been submitted, the editorial team will review the manuscript within a maximum period of 15 days. At this stage, it is evaluated if the article is of interest to the journal and if it complies with the criteria established in the guidelines for authors. If it is considered adequate, the article will pass to the peer review phase.

The evaluation is carried out under the double-blind peer review system, in which both authors and evaluators remain anonymous. This method seeks to guarantee an impartial and objective evaluation based solely on the academic content of the text.

The assigned reviewers are specialists in the corresponding area, and may be part of the journal's Advisory Board or external to the editorial team. Their task is to evaluate fundamental aspects such as clarity in the exposition of ideas, argumentative coherence, the logical structure of the document, as well as the quality, timeliness and relevance of the bibliographical sources used.

Based on the reports received, the journal editor will make the final decision on the publication of the article. It should be noted that, even after passing the peer review stage, a manuscript may be rejected if significant deficiencies are detected, such as discursive inconsistencies, unnecessary repetitions, argumentative gaps, inaccurate statements or errors in the bibliography.

Editorial decisions can be classified into three categories, duly justified by the reviewers:

  • Approved: the article is suitable for publication after minor adjustments in form or wording.
  • Approved with observations: the manuscript may be published once the author makes substantial modifications indicated by the reviewers.
  • Rejected: the text does not meet the required standards and will not be published.

The editorial team will promptly notify the authors of the result of the evaluation process, including the editor's final decision, either acceptance or rejection.

This process responds to the commitment of the Jiboa Journal to maintaining  high standards of editorial quality and contribute to the strengthening of national and international scientific production.
