Mangroves are vital coastal ecosystems found in the intertidal zones of tropical and subtropical regions. They are crucial for biodiversity, act as natural barriers against storms and erosion, and provide habitats for diverse species. Recognizing this importance, the University of El Salvador (UES) is the only public higher education institution dedicated to training morally and intellectually prepared professionals to fulfill their roles within society. As part of its community service, the university promotes mangrove preservation due to the ecological, social, and economic importance of these ecosystems. Within this context, the project aims to conduct mangrove clean-up brigades. The methodology involves removing tires and plastic bottles to prevent water stagnation in the mangroves, which must maintain the necessary water levels for the species that inhabit them. Furthermore, university students participate in this activity to foster environmental awareness, strengthen their social commitment, and contribute to the country’s sustainable development. By getting involved in mangrove conservation, Business Administration students apply their theoretical knowledge in practice, benefiting both the local community and the environment. Therefore, articles from different laws are mentioned that protect those involved in social outreach, allowing them to contribute to the environment. Students take the initiative to preserve mangroves, helping to eradicate the ecological impacts they have.
