Abstract

The article checks the topic of the Trade unionism in El Salvador, from the work of the farms to the Beginning of the labor organizations, in what it leads to the creation of the Craftsmen's Societies. in the second half of the 19th century develops the call stage mutual and cooperative, period in which began to be founded the first associations of workers with a view to encouraging sociability and mutual aid among its members. At the beginning of the XX century, appear the first unions in El Salvador in a stage that marks the passage of mutualism to trade unionism. In the decade the thirty in the times of the Government of general Hernandez Martinez, is reviewed the repression suffered by the workers movement, the mobilizations that have been produced since the end of the sixties and prolonged during the decade of the seventies, a period in which initiates the establishment of organizations of workers, as a result of the repression and persecution that suffers. Situation that explains the political participation of the masses of workers in the political and military conflict of the 1980s. Finally mentioned the national and international legislation that supports the right to trade union organization of workers.
