Abstract

The planet is facing a climate crisis characterized by extreme temperatures and severe environmental events, which is evidence of an imbalance in natural systems. Food production has been a key factor in this deterioration, with agricultural practices polluting soils, water and air, affecting both ecosystems and human health. Deforestation has significantly reduced forest cover, impacting biodiversity and habitats of multiple species. In addition, reliance on intensive and genetically limited livestock production systems threatens the resilience of these systems to climate change. To address this crisis, regenerative approaches are proposed that seek not only sustainability, but also restoration of environmental balance. Regenerative agriculture and holistic grazing are examples of practices that restore ecosystems, promote biodiversity and improve soil health, while increasing crop and livestock productivity. These practices integrate traditional and circular strategies that efficiently use resources. Adopting these regenerative models is essential to mitigate environmental damage, adapt to changing conditions and ensure food security in harmony with the natural environment.
