The research was conducted from october 2017 to october 2018, in the nursery of the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences of the University of El Salvador, the objective of the research was to evaluate indole butyric acid (AIB) in rooting cocoa stakes Creole (Theobroma cacao L.). For the development, a completely randomized design was carried out carrying out three experiments, starting with higher doses in the first two, with eight treatments, three repetitions and the Tukey stocking test. The AIB con centrations used in the third experiment were 200 mg.l-1, 400 mg.l-1, 600 mg.l-1, 800 mg.l-1, 2000 mg.l-1, 4000 mg.l -one; a treatment with 25% sugar solution and the control or control where nothing was added, in addition to all the stakes, acetylsa licylic acid (ASS) was applied, to attenuate their stress. The stakes were installed in three propagators by sub-irrigation, hand crafted with wood, one by repetition. The variables evaluated were: rooting percentage, root length and diameter, bud budding percentage, plant survival, leaf permanence and development days (GDD), using Pearson’s correlation to determine the influen ce between variables. As results in the first two experiments, the stakes died in less than two weeks. The third experiment with satisfactory results obtained significant statistical differences with the use of AIB, in doses of 4000 mg.l-1, which generated the greatest number of roots in cocoa stakes. In the end, it is concluded that the use of AIB in the different doses used considerably favors the rooting of Creole cocoa stakes, however, it should be noted that the use of acetylsalicylic acid in all treatments, in the third experiment, improved survival of the cocoa stakes, also highlighting the high positive correlation found between the initial number of leaves, length and diameter of the stakes, as possible factors that influenced rooting.
