Abstract

Los Cóbanos is the most important marine protected natural area in El Salvador. It is characterized by being the habitat of many species and consists of a unique rockycoral reef between Mexico and Costa Rica in the Eastern Pacific zone. It is one of the most visited tourist sites and presents a great variety of ecosystem services of benefit to all Salvadorans.
