Oscillations Between Theory and the Lifeworld

This paper studies the complexity of the development of a theory of society or a theory of the world. The leading thread is the notion of everyday life or the life world (Lebenswelt). A critique of the theories that have existed to-date is made based on their Platonism or also Aristotelian spirit. In other words, the critique is about their assumption of completeness and the external nature of the world or reality. While discussing the concept of a scientific model, this paper argues that a theory of society is impossible without taking also into account the non-human persons. Te world or reality are not just known, but also and perhaps mainly, they are imagined and experienced. At the end an invitation is made to incorporate quantum mechanics when understanding and explaining the social world
