From the Classroom to the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: The Impact of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Education at Francisco Gavidia University
Keywords:
Curriculum, higher education, academic entrepreneurship, innovationAbstract
Introduction: This study analyzes several key elements: research on entrepreneurship at certain institutions of higher education, policies and programs designed to support entrepreneurship in El Salvador, and, in greater depth, the academic curriculum of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation course at UFG. Method: This research study employs a quantitative and descriptive approach. Data were collected through structured interviews with faculty members teaching the Entrepreneurship and Innovation course during the 2025-1 semester. Results: The results of the analysis allow for the formulation of a series of recommendations aimed at fostering the development of innovative or disruptive ventures among the student population. Conclusions: Entrepreneurship, as such, is structured through academic standardization, with set schedules and timelines, as well as specific content or topics to be covered, which may, to some extent, limit the individual potential of the aspiring entrepreneur.
