Abstract

This document gathers the most important ideas of a book that was elaborated from a lecture given by Gregorio Luri, whose central theme is literacy. It presents ten theses that are supported by data, so that the reader can reflect on the process of literacy in educational spaces (schools, universities and curricular planning institutions). In addition, in Luri's book there are suggestions of activities that can be carried out in the family to promote the reading habit.
