Digital preservation policy

The Multidisciplinary Research Journal (REMI) implements digital preservation policies to ensure the preservation, integrity, availability, and permanent access to published scientific content. To this end, the journal implements the following mechanisms:
Institutional Backup
The journal’s Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform is hosted on the servers of the University of El Salvador (UES), where periodic backups of the database, system files, and published documents are performed in accordance with the institution’s technology management policies. 
PKP Preservation Network (PKP PLN): The journal uses the PKP PLN digital preservation service, integrated into OJS, which stores distributed copies of published articles in a preservation network managed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). This resource ensures the recovery and availability of content in the event of technical failures or loss of the primary server. 
Permanent Access
All published articles remain available in open access through the journal’s official website. In the event of a platform migration or technological update, the journal will strive to maintain the accessibility and integrity of the published files. 

Preservation Formats

Articles are published in widely accepted digital formats (PDF, EPUB, and HTML, as appropriate), promoting their long-term preservation and accessibility.

The journal periodically reviews its digital preservation mechanisms to ensure that content remains accessible and protected in accordance with international best practices in scientific publishing. Backups will be performed periodically to ensure permanent hosting within the OJS platform.
