Focus and scope
AQUACIENCIA is the journal of the School of Biology, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of El Salvador, which is part of a permanent project of social projection, in association with the Secretariat of Scientific Research, to disseminate updated information on coastal marine ecosystems, inland water bodies, biodiversity in general, ecology, and environmental education.
Along with original scientific and academic articles, the journal publishes scientific articles with an educational approach that allows readers to learn about processes that occur in different ecosystems, in order to generate values of admiration and respect for nature, guiding their behavior to relate more empathetically with natural resources.
The journal is available to researchers and students of the UES and other national or foreign educational institutions and organizations or institutions that develop research that wish to publish original and unpublished scientific work; it is free and open access to readers.
The journal is published every six months and manuscripts are submitted to double-blind peer review. Dissemination notes are reviewed by the scientific committee of the journal. A researcher selected by the Editorial Board will be invited to write the editorial page.
Objective
Its objective is to disseminate unpublished and original research, of scientific quality, prepared by national or foreign researchers; once they have been submitted to the review of specialists in the area; also contribute to environmental education through scientific dissemination notes.
Audience
The magazine is aimed at teachers, students, researchers and the general public interested in accessing accurate and updated information from the marine, coastal and limnological area.
Frequency
The magazine will be published biannually with two numbers corresponding to the periods of January - June and July - December. Additionally, special numbers may be published if requested by members of the Academic Community of the University of El Salvador or external to the UES.
