Water culture from an occupational perspective

Abstract

Currently in the world there is a growing recognition of environmental problems, the 2030 agenda considers as one of its sustainable development objectives (SDG) to guarantee the availability and sustainable management of clean water and sanitation, with one of its goals being to support and strengthen the participation of local communities in improving water and sanitation management. Water and culture are inseparable elements of human life, in that sense, the cultural context of communities is manifested through occupational behaviors, which follow certain performance patterns in the management of water resources.

This study corresponds to a reflective theoretical approach, which through the synthetic analytical method and literature review seeks to approach an understanding of water culture from an occupational and socio-environmental perspective, in its relationship with water resource management. One of the main conclusions reached is the knowledge that culture as a context is a systematic process of interaction between the human organism and the environment, also constitutes one of the relevant factors in decision making in relation to patterns. of occupational performance of people and communities related to the environment, and more specifically to water management.
