Incidence of oral cancer n people over 20 years of age. Colombia, January 2022-January 2024

Abstract

Withthe purpose of identifying the incidence of oral cancer in the population over 20 of age at the Francisco Caamano Deño polyclinic in the municipatity of Colombia, a prospective cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out that included all patients over 20 years of age, which allowed to know the distribution of the disease in the studied area according to age groups and sex. For this, their main risk factors, the specific classification of the different oral neoplasms present at the time of the investigation and the level of progress of the process at the time it was diagnosed, as well as the principles of treatment, were also determined. The direct interview through an examination of the patients was used as a source of information collection and the statistical method used was descriptive statistics through percentage analysis.
