The work of Monsignor Oscar Arnulfo Romero was empowered through two media of great importance, the Pan-American Voice, Radio YSAX, as well as the newspaper "Orientation". Previously, during his stay as Bishop of San Miguel, Monseñor Romero directed the "Chaparrastique" seminar. This implies that Monsignor Romero was a figure who used the media to denounce the climate of oppression and injustice in which practically the majority of Salvadorans oppressed under a military dictatorship lived. He himself called his faithful to listen to his messages, to become "microphones of God", to reproduce his denunciations. His Sunday homilies are a model of mass communication, effective and equitable, that Monsignor Romero put at the service of the search for justice and truth, and that, being uncomfortable for the oligarchic status quo, unleashed violent responses from right-wing groups which culminated in the assassination of Archbishop Martyr.
