El ser humano ha utilizado por tiempos inmemoriales plantas medicinales para tratar enfermedades y malestares, en un inicio, de manera empírica mediante las prácticas realizadas por brujos y chamanes, quienes conocían un gran número de plantas con “poderes curativos” y el arte de medicar.
