Poeta Nacional de El Salvador
Keywords:
Alfredo Espino, leit motiv, función social del arte, campiña salvadoreña, estética románticaAbstract
Alfredo Espino's poetry is a great example of the love of the Salvadoran countryside. In his verses and prose, the descriptions of the Salvadoran landscape and the brilliant feelings that overwhelm the characters in his works are ideally refracted. In this manuscript, some poems such as Ascensión, Las Manos de mi madre and fragments of the prologue of Jícaras Tristes are exhibited, with these materials the author's poetics is analyzed. The social function of art in Espino's work is also reflected upon, since some of his literary creations express the national reality.
