This manuscript analyzes the work La Patria del Criollo by the writer Severo Martínez, a work of history and criticism of Guatemalan society. In addition, the origins of the author, his family and intellectual history are addressed. Likewise, it is highlighted that the novel is an essential element of Central American historiography, with a solid theoretical basis and positioning History as a social project.
