Mental disability. Its impact at the time of delivery, immediate and medium puerperium

To prepare this article, data were taken from 119 patients with mental disabilities who were admitted to the “Ivan Portuondo” General Teaching Hospital in San Antonio de los Baños, to know the complications and factors related to them, such as the impact of their pathology at the time of childbirth and puerperium, both immediate and immediate. Having mental retardation as the most frequent pathology among them, represented by 57 patients. Of the total, 87 parturietas come from dysfunctional families and 61 are adolescents, with the extreme ages being most represented. There were 71 dystocic births. The largest number of patients contributed newborns with a diagnosis of IUGR/SGA, with a total of 33 newborns. Therefore, the objective set was: to analyze the impact of childbirth and the puerperium on patients with mental disabilities at the San Antonio de los Baños Hospital.
