The impact on daily life in the urban area of Olocuilta with the introduction of electrical service in the 1960s

The introduction of electrical service to the urban area of Olocuilta occurred in the 1960s. With electricity, the daily life of the neighbors and the dynamics of the businesses in that main part of the town had a representative change, but also for the concerns of everyone. the residents of Olocuilta. This article shows the results of an investigation, through the methodology of Oral History, in particular, the interview in which the dialogue between the interviewee and the researcher produces the remembrance of the lived experiences. In this case, through conversations with residents of Olocuilta, it was possible to obtain a story about the routine changes that the electric light service caused in the population, in the years in which the Salvadoran State sought the modernization of the country, with the expansion of electrical service to municipal capitals and for the emerging industry.
