Abstract

This article establishes the influence of Rubén Darío's poetics on the work of the Nicaraguan writer Juan Felipe Toruño. The author finds various signs of this influence, both in the poet's explicit statements, in his first book Spiritual Paths, and in other more formal aspects of his work. Another similarity that marks a relationship with Dariana's work is Toruño's stance in resistance. in the face of the threat of a North American invasion in Central America, since both authors maintain a strong defense of the sovereignty of the American peoples.
