El papel del templo en el paisaje pipil: Excavaciones de un templo postclásico en la zona de los Izalcos
Abstract
El proyecto del reconociemiento del valle del río Ceniza, realizado entre los años 1994 y 1995, estuvo enfocado en Izalco colonial e investiga un área desconocida arqueológicamente, pero muy rica en documentos históricos que pertenecen a la conquista española y los pipiles. En este ensayo se presentan datos sobre un solo lugar, sin embargo, este sitio donde se ubica un pequeño templo, es una llave para entender el pasado.
Por medio de evidencia del uso y colocación de una estructura, se podra observar que principios nahuas nutrían la organización sociopolítica y ritual en el postclásico tardío en la zona occidental de El Salvador.
