Letter from the Director
Abstract
The University of El Salvador was founded on February 16, 1841, a date that coincides with the declaration of the Salvadoran State. Since its constitution, Alma Mater has resisted the country's historical storms, always remaining the first and only public university, committed to science and culture. Furthermore, its purposes address the urgency of transforming Salvadoran society through teaching, research and social projection. By uniting these three axes, the University of El Salvador promotes its work and scientific production, in order to deliver to the people men and women with a spirit of renewal of their reality and a humanistic approach to knowledge.
