Abstract

Project monitoring, despite being one of the last stages in the Project Cycle Management, is necessary to verify and improve the results obtained; therefore, this article establishes the importance of monitoring development projects in different NGOs in El Salvador. To support the research, several points are presented where monitoring is addressed as an important phase in the completion of projects and as a decisive tool to obtain valuable lessons. In this sense, documentary research has been carried out based on bibliographic materials that provide a theoretical perspective of the process, as well as the review of the web pages of different NGOs in El Salvador to have data on how many of them implement this phase.
